Ipswich Town 1-1 Cheltenham Town: Tractor Boys pegged back by battling Robins

On Saturday, Ipswich Town and Cheltenham Town played out a 1-1 draw at Portman Road Stadium. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were each keen to pick up points. Ipswich Town were aiming to improve their league standing following a disappointing 4-4 draw with Charlton Athletic in their previous game. Cheltenham Town, meanwhile, had to settle for a draw 0-0 against Milton Keynes Dons. Ipswich Town are 2nd with 38 points from 18 matches, while Cheltenham Town sit in 19th, with 19 points from 18.

It was an impressive opening from Ipswich Town, when Luke Woolfenden gave them the lead on the 8 minute mark. However, their lead was short-lived, as Ryan Broom equalised for Cheltenham Town in the 34th minute, finishing the first half 1-1. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the match ended 1-1.

Substitutions for Ipswich Town included Kane Vincent-Young, Kayden Jackson, Kyle Edwards, Panutche Camara and Cameron Burgess for Janoi Donacien, Wes Burns, Marcus Harness, Conor Chaplin and Cameron Humphreys, respectively. Cheltenham Town brought on Reece Hutchinson, George Lloyd, Daniel Adshead and Ellis Chapman, to replace Ben Williams, Christian Norton, James Olayinka and Daniel N`Lundulu.

There were bookings for Sam Morsy from Ipswich Town, and Luke Southwood, Daniel Adshead and Lewis Freestone, for Cheltenham Town.

Ipswich Town will next travel to Exeter City, while Cheltenham Town will face Wycombe Wanderers at home.
