Burton Albion 3-3 Charlton Athletic: Six-goal stunner ends all square

Burton Albion were helde ach other to a 3-3 draw by Charlton Athletic on Saturday at Pirelli Stadium. Burton Albion arrived at the match looking to pick up more points after losing their last match 4-2 to Sheffield Wednesday. Charlton Athletic, meanwhile, had secured a point against Ipswich Town in their previous match. Burton Albion are now in 23rd place, with 13 points from 18 matches, while Charlton Athletic sit in 11th, with 24 points from 18.

It was an impressive opening from Charlton Athletic, with a goal from Charlie Kirk in the 26th minute. Charlton Athletic looked to have the match under control when they scored again to grab the advantage, thanks to a 2nd effort from Charlie Kirk, at 36 minutes to establish a 2-0. However, Burton Albion refused to lie down and managed to pull back a goal from Adedeji Oshilaja on the 38 minute mark. Burton Albion then netted once more and found an equaliser thanks to a goal from Tom Hamer just before half-time, to take a 2-2 lead into half time.

Burton Albion took the initiative in the second half, when Victor Adeboyejo found the net, at 58 minutes. In the end though, their lead was short-lived, as Jesuran Rak-Sakyi equalised for Charlton Athletic in the 75th minute, seing the match finish 3-3.

Substitutions for Burton Albion included Joe Dodoo, Sam Winnall and Mustapha Carayol for Victor Adeboyejo, Ciaran Gilligan and Jonny Smith, respectively. Charlton Athletic replaced Corey Blackett-Taylor, Chuks Aneke, Jake Forster-Caskey, Jack Payne and Albie Morgan with Tyreece Campbell, Jayden Stockley, George Dobson, Charlie Kirk and Scott Fraser.

The referee booked Terry Taylor for Burton Albion.

Burton Albion will play at home against Plymouth Argyle, while Charlton Athletic will face Port Vale away.
