Wycombe 3-1 Peterborough United: The Chairboys enjoy home win against the Posh

Wycombe Wanderers beat Peterborough United with a 3-1 victory on Saturday at Adams Park. Wycombe were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Peterborough United, meanwhile, had managed to pick up a point in their matchup with Burton Albion. Wycombe and Peterborough United currently occupy 12th and 5th spots in the league, with 17 points and 22 points respectively after 14 matches.

Peterborough United dominated the first half, thanks to a goal from Harrison Burrows on the 22 minute mark. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Garath McCleary equalised for Wycombe just before half-time, which saw the first half end 1-1.

Wycombe rallied after this and were rewarded, when Sam Vokes found the net on the 74 minute mark. The Chairboys then netted again and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Anis Mehmeti just before the full time to give a final score of 3-1.

Substitutions for Wycombe included Brandon Hanlan and D’Mani Bughail-Mellor for Garath McCleary and Anis Mehmeti, respectively. Peterborough United brought on Joel Randall, Jack Marriott and Ephron Mason-Clark, to replace Ricky Jade-Jones, Ben Thompson and Dan Butler.

The referee booked Christian Forino and Sam Vokes for Wycombe.

Next up, Wycombe are away to Milton Keynes Dons, whilst Peterborough United will travel to face Oxford United.
