Wycombe 2 – Milton Keynes Dons 0: Home win for Wycombe in League One Semi Final – first leg.

Wycombe will be confident and looking forward to the return match. They have delivered all that could be asked of them on the night, so the tie is very much in their favour. Liam Manning’s squad will doubtless be frustrated to have lost, but also to have not gained any kind of advantage by way of an away goal. They therefore have much to do, if they are to secure a place in the League One final.

It was an impressive opening from The Chairboys, with a goal from Ryan Tafazolli at the 38 minute mark, finalising the first half 1-0.

Wycombe continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Sam Vokes finding the net, at 82 minutes, leaving the final score at 2-0.

For Wycombe, Lewis Wing, David Wheeler and Adebayo Akinfenwa, came on for Daryl Horgan, Dominic Gape and Sam Vokes. Milton Keynes Dons brought on Hiram Boateng and Connor Wickham, to replace Scott Twine and Troy Parrott.

The referee booked Dominic Gape, Joe Jacobson and Daryl Horgan from Wycombe. Milton Keynes Dons had the worst of it though, with Josh McEachran seeing yellow, and Josh McEachran (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

This will be a very well received result for, on the back of a dismal draw in the first leg. It sets the stage for them well as they now move forward to the next stage of the League One.
