Wycombe Wanderers eased past Fleetwood Town in a 1-0 victory on Tuesday at Adams Park. Wycombe wanted to improve their league standing after a scoreless draw against Rotherham United in their previous match. Fleetwood Town were beaten 3-2 in the previous match against Burton Albion. Following today’s result, Wycombe are currently 8th with 65 points from 40 matches, while Fleetwood Town sit in 19th, with 33 points from 40.

After a goalless first half, Wycombe piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Jason McCarthy finding the net just before the final whistle so at full time it was 1-0 to Wycombe.

For Wycombe, Brandon Hanlan, Jack Young and Adebayo Akinfenwa, came on for Daryl Horgan, Lewis Wing and Anis Mehmeti. Fleetwood Town brought on Joe Garner and Chiekh Thiam, to replace Daniel Butterworth and Carl Johnston.

There were bookings for Lewis Wing and Josh Scowen from Wycombe, and Paddy Lane and Dylan Boyle, for Fleetwood Town.

Wycombe will play at home against Doncaster Rovers, while Fleetwood Town will face Crewe Alexandra away.
