Wycombe 1-1 Accrington Stanley: McCarthy seals three points for the Chairboys

On Tuesday, Accrington Stanley suffered an away defeat to Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park. Wycombe were on the hunt for more points following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Fleetwood Town in their previous game. Accrington Stanley had lost their previous match against Forest Green Rovers. Wycombe are now in 10th place on the table and have 11 points while Accrington Stanley sit in 21st with 7 points after 9 matches.

Wycombe started the first half well, when Jason McCarthy found the net, at 21 minutes, and they saw out the first half 1-0. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Substitutions for Wycombe included Nick Freeman and Ali Al-Hamadi for Lewis Wing and Anis Mehmeti, respectively. Accrington Stanley brought on Matt Lowe and Jack Nolan for Ethan Hamilton and Seamus Conneely.

There were bookings for Josh Scowen from Wycombe, and Doug Tharme and Liam Coyle, for Accrington Stanley.

Wycombe will next play Derby County away, with Accrington Stanley facing Cheltenham Town at home.
