Shrewsbury Town 1-1 Oxford United: Shrews battle back for a share of the spoils

Shrewsbury Town were helde ach other to a 1-1 draw by Oxford United on Wednesday at Montgomery Waters Meadow. Shrewsbury Town were looking for a victory after a 1-1 draw against Portsmouth FC. Oxford United, meanwhile, were coming off the back of a 3-1 win against Bolton Wanderers. Shrewsbury Town and Oxford United sit 10th, (23 points) and 16th, (20 points), spots respectively, after 8 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Oxford United, thanks to a goal from Cameron Brannagan in the 15th minute to see out the first half 1-0.

Shrewsbury Town took the lead in the second half, with a goal from Matthew Pennington, at 65 minutes. The final result, Shrewsbury Town 1, Oxford United 1.

Shrewsbury Town next face Barnsley while Oxford United are at home to Port Vale.
