Shrewsbury 0-3 Ipswich: Tractor Boys race to comfortable win over the Shrews

Shrewsbury Town fell to a home defeat at the hands of Ipswich Town at Montgomery Waters Meadow on Saturday. Shrewsbury Town arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after a scoreless draw against Derby County in their previous match. Ipswich Town were coming from consecutive wins against Burton Albion and Milton Keynes Dons. After today’s result, Shrewsbury Town and Ipswich Town currently occupy 18th and 1st spots in the league, with 5 points and 13 points respectively after 5 matches.

Ipswich Town started strongly in the first half, when Tyreece John-Jules opened the rout, at 22 minutes and saw the first half out 1-0.

Ipswich Town started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, when Conor Chaplin found the net, 52 minutes in. Ipswich Town then scored once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Kayden Jackson just before the final whistle to make it 3-0.

Substitutions for Shrewsbury Town included Ryan Bowman, Charlie Caton and Tom Bloxham for Rekeil Pyke, Daniel Udoh and Julien Da Costa, repectively. Ipswich Town brought on Kayden Jackson, Freddie Ladapo, Sone Aluko and Kyle Edwards, to replace Kane Vincent-Young, Tyreece John-Jules, Conor Chaplin and Marcus Harness.

There were bookings for Tom Bayliss from Shrewsbury Town, and Sam Morsy, for Ipswich Town.

Shrewsbury Town will next play Bristol Rovers away, with Ipswich Town facing Barnsley at home.
