Shrewsbury Town 1 – Ipswich Town 1: Honours even and points shared at Montgomery Waters Meadow

On Saturday, Shrewsbury Town and Ipswich Town were held to a 1-1 draw at Montgomery Waters Meadow. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Shrewsbury Town were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Milton Keynes Dons. Ipswich Town were beaten 1-0 in the previous match against Cambridge Utd. As things stand, Shrewsbury Town and Ipswich Town currently occupy 16th and 9th spots in the league, with 49 points and 65 points respectively after 42 matches.

Ipswich Town started strongly in the first half, with James Norwood giving Ipswich Town the lead early in the first half, ending the first half 0-1.

Shrewsbury Town took the lead in the second half, thanks to Shaun Whalley finding the net, 84 minutes in. The final result, Shrewsbury Town 1, Ipswich Town 1.

For Shrewsbury Town, Shaun Whalley and Tom Bloxham, came on for Josh Daniels and Daniel Udoh. Ipswich Town brought on Dominic Thompson and Macauley Bonne for Sone Aluko and James Norwood.

The referee booked Luke Leahy, Matthew Pennington, Josh Vela and George Nurse from Shrewsbury Town. Ipswich Town had the worst of it though, with Sam Morsy, Cameron Burgess, Wes Burns and Janoi Donacien seeing yellow, and Cameron Burgess (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.
