Sheff Weds 5-0 Forest Green: The Owls put 5 past Rovers at Hillsborough
Sheffield Wednesday rolls over Forest Green Rovers 5-0 on Saturday at Hillsborough Stadium. SWFC were looking to pick up points, following a 2-0 victory against Bolton Wanderers. Rovers were beaten 3-0 in the previous match against Plymouth Argyle. As the table looks today, SWFC are in 3rd place, with 13 points from 6 matches, while Rovers sit in 22nd, with 4 points from 6.
The Owls started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Josh Windass opened the rout at the 12 minute mark. SWFC looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Barry Bannan, 19 minutes in to establish a 2-0. The momentum was now with SWFC, who then scored again through a goal from Liam Palmer, at 31 minutes to establish a 3-0. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Lee Gregory just before halftime to see out the first half 4-0.
SWFC continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Dominic Bernard in the 56th minute. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 5-0 to SWFC.
