Sheffield Wednesday on a 4-1 win against Cheltenham Town on Saturday at Hillsborough Stadium. SWFC wanted to continue adding points after a scoreless draw against Gillingham FC in their previous match while Cheltenham Town were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against AFC Wimbledon and Morecambe FC. As things stand, SWFC and Cheltenham Town sit 6th, (69 points) and 12th, (50 points), spots respectively, after 40 matches.

Cheltenham Town started strongly in the first half, with an early goal from Alfie May in the 4th minute. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Massimo Luongo equalised for The Owls in the 7th minute to see out the first half 1-1.

SWFC rallied after this and were rewarded, with a goal from Lee Gregory, 58 minutes in. The momentum was now with SWFC, who then scored again through a goal from Jack Hunt at the 83 minute mark to establish a 3-1. SWFC then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from George Byers just before the final whistle with a final score of 4-1.

Both managers used all available substitutions. For SWFC, Sylla Sow, Dominic Iorfa and Callum Paterson, came on for Nathaniel Mendez Laing, Jordan Storey and Lee Gregory, Cheltenham Town brought on George Lloyd, Liam Sercombe and Kion Etete to replace Matty Blair, Charlie Raglan and Ellis Chapman.
