Sheffield U 4 – Fulham 0: The Blades on fire, putting 4 past The Cottagers at home

Sheffield United defeat Fulham 4-0 on Saturday at Bramall Lane. Both teams arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Sheffield U were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games in the competition. The most recent was against the Queens Park Rangers away (3-1), the other to Cardiff City at home (1-0). Fulham were looking to extend their winning run after a 7-0 victory against Luton Town. Following the final whistle at the end of the last game of the Championship season, Sheffield U and Fulham sit 5th (75 points) and 1st (90 points) in the league respectively, after a total of 46 matches.

Sheffield U didn’t take long to start the rout, with Morgan Gibbs-White opening the rout at the 10 minute mark. The Blades looked to have the game under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Iliman Ndiaye, 21 minutes in to establish a 2-0. Sheffield U then scored once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Sander Berge in the 25th minute and seeing the first half out 3-0.

Sheffield U started the second half with renewed vigour, with an early goal from Enda Stevens in the 49th minute, leaving the final score at 4-0.

Both coaches used all available substitutions. For Sheffield U, Ben Davies, Conor Hourihane and Daniel Jebbison, came on for Iliman Ndiaye, John Fleck and Morgan Gibbs-White, Fulham brought on Joshua Onomah, Rodrigo Muniz and Harrison Reed, to replace Nathaniel Chalobah, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Jean Seri.

There were bookings for John Fleck and Enda Stevens from Sheffield U. For Fulham, Michael Hector saw yellow.
