Rotherham 1 – Ipswich Town 0: The Millers seal precious win at the AESSEAL New York Stadium

Rotherham United strolled past Ipswich Town with a 1-0 win on Saturday at the AESSEAL New York Stadium. Rotherham were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Charlton Athletic. Ipswich Town had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Shrewsbury Town. As it stands, Rotherham are in 2nd place, with 83 points from 43 matches, while Ipswich Town sit in 10th, with 65 points from 43.

After an un-eventful first half, The Millers applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Michael Smith finding the net, 78 minutes in. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 1-0 to Rotherham.

For Rotherham, Daniel Barlaser and Richard Wood, came on for Mikel Miller and Jordi Osei-Tutu. Ipswich Town brought on Macauley Bonne, Conor Chaplin and Joe Pigott, to replace James Norwood, Sone Aluko and Bersant Celina.

There were bookings for Rarmani Edmonds-Green from Rotherham, and Wes Burns, Bersant Celina, James Norwood, Luke Woolfenden and Sone Aluko, for Ipswich Town.

Rotherham will next travel to Burton Albion, while Ipswich Town will face Wigan Athletic at home.
