Rotherham 0 – Charlton Athletic 1: Visitors secure points with win at the AESSEAL New York Stadium

Rotherham United fell to a home defeat at the hands of Charlton Athletic at the AESSEAL New York Stadium. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Rotherham were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Shrewsbury Town. Charlton Athletic, on the other hand, lost 2-1 in the last match they played against Lincoln City. As it stands, Rotherham and Charlton Athletic currently occupy 3rd and 15th spots in the league, with 80 points and 53 points respectively after 42 matches.

After an un-eventful first half, Whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Charlton Athletic who started the second half well, thanks to George Dobson giving Charlton Athletic the lead at the 55 minute mark, leaving the final score at 1-0.

For Rotherham, Jamie Lindsay, Mikel Miller and Jordi Osei-Tutu, came on for Oliver Rathbone, Shane Ferguson and Daniel Barlaser. Charlton Athletic brought on Ben Purrington for Corey Blackett-Taylor.

The referee booked Akin Famewo for Charlton Athletic.

Charlton Athletic and Rotherham will next play at home to Morecambe FC and Ipswich Town respectively.
