North End 1 – Blackburn 4: Rovers, merciless at Deepdale

Blackburn Rovers cruises against Preston North End on an away win at Deepdale on Monday. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. North End were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 3-0 to Fulham. Blackburn, on the other hand, were beaten 1-0 in the previous match against Stoke City. As the table looks today, North End are in 15th place on the table and has 58 points while Blackburn sit in 7th with 66 points after 44 matches.
It was an impressive opening from Rovers, with Sam Gallagher opening the rout, 9 minutes in. The momentum was now with Blackburn, who then scored again through a goal from John Buckley in the 12th minute to establish a 2-0. However, North End weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Alan Browne in the 29th minute. However, Rovers secured the points emphatically, with a goal from Darragh Lenihan, 37 minutes in. The score at half time was 1-3.
Blackburn fought back, with Lewis Travis finding the net in the 52nd minute, leaving the final score at 4-1.
North End brought on Sean Maguire, Joe Rafferty and Ali McCann for Gregory Cunningham, Andrew Hughes and Ben Whiteman. Blackburn brought on Ian Poveda, Tayo Edun and Bradley Dack, to replace Sam Gallagher, Joe Rothwell and John Buckley.
There were bookings for Alan Browne and Ben Whiteman from North End. For Blackburn, Harry Pickering, Sam Gallagher and John Buckley saw yellow.
