Portsmouth FC 1-1 Shrewsbury Town: Home advantage cancelled out by visitors

Portsmouth FC were helde ach other to a 1-1 draw by Shrewsbury Town on Saturday at Fratton Park. Portsmouth FC were on the hunt for more points after a 1-1 draw against Oxford United. Shrewsbury Town had lost their previous match against Plymouth Argyle. Portsmouth FC are now in 5th place, with 27 points from 17 matches, while Shrewsbury Town sit in 11th, with 22 points from 17.

Shrewsbury Town started the match strongly, when Elliott Bennett found the net on the 26 minute mark. However, their lead was short-lived, as Zak Swanson equalised for Portsmouth FC in the 29th minute, ending the first half 1-1. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 1-1.

Substitutions for Portsmouth FC included Michael Morrison, Joe Morrell, Joe Pigott and Kieron Freeman for Sean Raggett, Jay Mingi, Dane Scarlett and Zak Swanson, respectively. Shrewsbury Town brought on Taylor Moore, Ryan Bowman and Rekeil Pyke, to replace Elliott Bennett, Robert Street and Christian Saydee.

The referee booked Jay Mingi for Portsmouth FC.

Portsmouth FC will next travel to Morecambe FC, while Shrewsbury Town will face Barnsley at home.
