Portsmouth FC 2-2 Plymouth Argyle: Points shared at Fratton Park

On Saturday, Portsmouth FC and Plymouth Argyle played out a 2-2 draw at Fratton Park. Both Portsmouth FC and Plymouth Argyle arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Portsmouth FC were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games in the league. The most recent was against the Burton Albion away (2-0), the other to Peterborough United at home (2-1). Plymouth Argyle were hoping to continue their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Oxford United and Derby County. Portsmouth FC and Plymouth Argyle currently occupy 2nd and 3rd spots in the table, with 21 points and 19 points respectively after 10 matches.

Portsmouth FC took the initiative in the second half, thanks to a goal from Sean Raggett on the 74 minute mark. However, Plymouth Argyle refused to lie down and managed to pull back a goal from Niall Ennis in the 79th minute. Portsmouth FC in turn, then responded just before the full time, grabbing the lead with an effort from Recco Hackett-Fairchild, to level the score at 3-1.

Substitutions for Portsmouth FC included Joe Morrell, Ronan Curtis, Joe Pigott and Recco Hackett-Fairchild for Tom Lowery, Josh Koroma, Dane Scarlett and Owen Dale, respectively. Plymouth Argyle brought on Niall Ennis, Sam Cosgrove, Adam Randell and Brendan Galloway for Ryan Hardie, Joe Edwards, Jordan Houghton and Macauley Gillesphey.

The referee booked Marlon Pack, Recco Hackett-Fairchild, Colby Bishop and Michael Morrison from Portsmouth FC. Plymouth Argyle had the worst of it though, with Brendan Galloway and Finn Azaz seeing yellow, and Brendan Galloway (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Portsmouth FC next face Bolton Wanderers while Plymouth Argyle are at home to Ipswich Town.
