Portsmouth FC 1-1 Oxford United: Fratton Park sees frustrating draw

On Tuesday, Portsmouth FC and Oxford United played out a 1-1 draw at Fratton Park. Portsmouth FC were looking to pick up points, following a 1-0 victory against Forest Green Rovers, while Oxford United were beaten 2-1 in their previous match against Peterborough United. Portsmouth FC are now in 6th place, with 26 points from 16 matches, while Oxford United sit in 20th, with 15 points from 16.

Oxford United started the match strongly, when Kyle Joseph found the net, at 16 minutes to see out the first half 1-0.

Portsmouth FC took the lead in the second half, when Colby Bishop found the net, at 78 minutes. The match ended wih a 1-1 draw.

Substitutions for Portsmouth FC included Michael Morrison, Owen Dale, Josh Koroma, Joe Pigott and Denver Hume for Sean Raggett, Dane Scarlett, Ronan Curtis, Zak Swanson and Recco Hackett-Fairchild, respectively. Oxford United brought on Tyler Goodhram, Djavan Anderson, Steve Seddon and Alex Gorrin, to replace Marcus Browne, Gatlin O Donkor, Kyle Joseph and Cameron Brannagan.

The referee booked Ronan Curtis from Portsmouth FC. Oxford United had the worst of it though, with Billy Bodin, Stuart Findlay, Gatlin O Donkor and Tyler Goodhram seeing yellow, and Billy Bodin (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Portsmouth FC will next play Shrewsbury Town at home, with Oxford United facing Bolton Wanderers away.
