Peterborough United 4-1 Forest Green: Rovers humbled by The Posh

Peterborough United defeated Forest Green Rovers 4-1 on Tuesday at Abax Stadium. Peterborough United were looking for a victory after a 1-1 draw against Burton Albion. Rovers, meanwhile, were able to continue their winning streak after a 1-0 win against Bolton Wanderers in their last match. Peterborough United are now in 4th place, with 22 points from 8 matches, while Rovers sit in 21st, with 11 points from 8.

Peterborough United started the match strongly, when Nathan Thompson opened the rout, at 30 minutes. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Josh March managing to equalize, 35 minutes in 1-1. However, each side looked hungry to win and Peterborough United then found the back of the net in the 39th minute thanks to Jonson Clarke-Harris, taking the score to 2-1. Peterborough United then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Ricky Jade-Jones just before half-time to see out the first half 3-1.

Peterborough United once more applied the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, when Harrison Burrows found the net, 58 minutes in, leaving a rampant Peterborough United with a resounding 4-1.

Next up, Peterborough United are away to Wycombe Wanderers, whilst Rovers will travel to face Port Vale.
