Oxford United 1 – Peterborough United 2: Visitors at Kassam Stadium secure victory

Peterborough United enjoyed an away victory against Oxford United at Kassam Stadium on Saturday. Oxford United had been hopeful of continuing their good run after winning last match. Peterborough United were beaten 3-1 in their previous match against Wycombe Wanderers. Oxford United are currently 19th with 14 points from 15 matches, while Peterborough United sit in 4th, with 25 points from 15.

Peterborough United dominated the first half, when Jack Taylor found the net after only 7 minutes. However they weren’t finished yet and Kwame Poku made it 2-0, 31 minutes in. The score at break remained 2-0.

Oxford United fought back, when Billy Bodin found the net after 52 minutes, leaving the final score at 2-1.

Both coaches used all available substitutions. Substitutions for Oxford United included Tyler Goodhram and Djavan Anderson for Stuart Findlay and Marcus McGuane, respectively, Peterborough United brought on Nathan Thompson, Kelland Watts, Jack Marriott and Ben Thompson to replace Joe Ward, Kwame Poku, Ephron Mason-Clark and Jack Taylor.

The referee booked seven players. Marcus Browne, Elliott Moore and Tyler Goodhram from Oxford United, who saw yellow cards and Matty Taylor, sent off with a red, as well as for Peterborough United Hector Matthew Kyprianou, Ronnie Edwards and Dan Butler also seeing yellows.

Oxford United will next travel to Portsmouth FC, while Peterborough United will face Accrington Stanley at home.
