Oxford 1-2 Lincoln: U’s struggles continue as Lincoln raid Kassam Stadium

Lincoln City enjoyed a mesmerising away victory against Oxford United at Kassam Stadium on Tuesday. Oxford United were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last match 1-0 to Bristol Rovers. Lincoln City, on the other hand, secured a point against Forest Green Rovers in their previous match. As it stands, Oxford United are in 19th place, with 3 points from 4 matches, while Lincoln City sit in 11th, with 6 points from 4.

Lincoln City started the first half well, when Tom Hopper found the net, at 21 minutes. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Anthony Scully just before halftime to secure a 2-0 win.

Oxford United took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Cameron Brannagan, 69 minutes in and saw the match end 2-1.

Substitutions for Oxford United included James Henry, Kyle Joseph, Ciaron Brown and Tyler Goodhram for Lewis Bate, Billy Bodin, Steve Seddon and Marcus Browne, repectively. Lincoln City brought on Tashan Oakley-Boothe, Sean Roughan and Charley Kendall, to replace Ben House, Anthony Scully and Jordan Garrick.

There were bookings for Steve Seddon and Matty Taylor from Oxford United. For Lincoln City, Sean Roughan, Lasse Sorensen and Timothy Eyoma saw yellow.
