Forest 4 – West Brom 0: Red dogs blaze 4 past The Baggies at the City Ground

Nottingham Forest’s 4-0 win over West Bromwich Albion on Monday, was hard fought at the City Ground. Forest arrived at the game looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Luton Town. West Brom, on the other hand, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 2-1 victory against Blackpool. After today’s result, Forest are in 5th place on the table and has 70 points while West Brom sit in 12th with 60 points after 43 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Forest, with Brennan Johnson opening the rout in the 19th minute. Red dogs looked to have the game under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Ryan Yates at the 23 minute mark to establish a 2-0. Red dogs then netted again and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Jack Colback just before half-time to see out the first half 3-0.

Forest continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Sam Surridge finding the net just before the final whistle so at full time it was 4-0 to Forest.

As for substitutions, for Forest, Steve Cook, Richie Laryea and Cafu, came on for Scott McKenna, Djed Spence and Ryan Yates, West Brom brought on Taylor Gardner-Hickman, Jayson Molumby and Matthew Phillips to replace Karlan Grant, Alex Mowatt and Andy Carroll.

The referee booked Djed Spence and Ryan Yates from Forest. West Brom had the worst of it though, with Darnell Furlong, Taylor Gardner-Hickman and Matthew Phillips seeing yellow, and Darnell Furlong (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Forest will next travel to Peterborough United, while West Brom will face Coventry City at home.
