Morecambe FC 1 – Cheltenham Town 3: Visitors secure points with win at Globe Arena

Cheltenham Town beats Morecambe FC 3-1 on Saturday at Globe Arena. Morecambe FC were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Plymouth Argyle. Cheltenham Town, on the other hand, were coming from a 4-0 win against Doncaster Rovers. As it stands, Morecambe FC are in 22nd place, with 32 points from 38 matches, while Cheltenham Town sit in 13th, with 47 points from 38.

Cheltenham Town started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to a goal from Liam Sercombe in the 44th minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Callum Wright made it 2-0 just before half-time. The score at half time was 0-2.

Morecambe FC started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with a goal from Greg Leigh in the 52nd minute. Cheltenham Town in turn, then responded, 80 minutes in increasing their lead with an effort from Alfie May, which sealed the victory for the visitors.

For Morecambe FC, Jonathan Obika and Jonah Ayunga, came on for Alfie John McCalmont and Liam Gibson. Cheltenham Town brought on Charlie Colkett, Lewis Freestone and George Lloyd, to replace Elliot Bonds, Ben Williams and Andy Williams.

Morecambe FC will next travel to Wigan Athletic, while Cheltenham Town will face AFC Wimbledon at home.
