Milton Keynes Dons 1 – Wigan Athletic 1: Honours even and points shared at Stadium Mk

On Saturday, Milton Keynes Dons and Wigan Athletic were held to a 1-1 draw at Stadium Mk. Both teams arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Milton Keynes Dons were looking to continue their run after winning their previous two games in the league. The most recent was against the Rotherham United away (2-1), the other to Bolton Wanderers at home (2-0). Wigan Athletic were coming from consecutive wins against AFC Wimbledon and Fleetwood Town. As the table looks today, both teams are on 73 points and sit in 3rd and 2nd places respectively after 38 matches.

After a goalless first half, Wigan Athletic fought back the second half, with a goal from Tom Naylor at the 58 minute mark. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Harry Darling equalised for Milton Keynes Dons just before the final whistle. The final result, Milton Keynes Dons 1, Wigan Athletic 1.

Milton Keynes Dons brought on David Kasumu, Theodor Corbeanu and Hiram Boateng for Josh McEachran, Mo Eisa and Dean Lewington. Wigan Athletic brought on Gwion Edwards, Josh Magennis and Tom Bayliss, to replace Gavin Massey, Stephen Humphrys and Tom Pearce.

There were bookings for Josh McEachran and David Kasumu from Milton Keynes Dons. For Wigan Athletic, Gavin Massey, Callum Lang and Curtis Tilt saw yellow.

Milton Keynes Dons will next travel to Cambridge Utd, while Wigan Athletic will face Morecambe FC at home.
