Lincoln City 2-0 Derby: The Rams unable to avoid away defeat

On Tuesday, Derby County suffered an away defeat to Lincoln City at Sincil Bank. Both sides came from defeats in their previous league games. Lincoln City were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last match 2-0 to Cambridge Utd whilst Derby had lost their previous match against Plymouth Argyle. Lincoln City are now in 16th place on the table and have 10 points while Derby sit in 13th with 11 points after 9 matches.

Lincoln City started strongly in the first half, when Jack Diamond gave them the lead on the 12 minute mark, and they saw out the first half 1-0.

Lincoln City continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Ben House in the 68th minute. The final result, Lincoln City 2, Derby 0.

Substitutions for Lincoln City included Tashan Oakley-Boothe and Adam Jackson for Teddy Bishop and Jordan Garrick, respectively. Derby brought on Tom Barkhuizen, David McGoldrick and William Osula, to replace Lewis Norman Dobbin, Louie Sibley and Max Bird.

There were bookings for Sean Roughan, Carl Rushworth and Paudie O’Connor from Lincoln City, and Conor Hourihane and Eiran Joe Cashin, for Derby.

Lincoln City will next travel to Bristol Rovers, while Derby will face Wycombe Wanderers at home.
