Ipswich Town 1 – Plymouth Argyle 0: Visitors leave Portman Road Stadium empty handed

Ipswich Town snatched all three points from Plymouth Argyle in a 1-0 victory on Saturday, at Portman Road Stadium. Ipswich Town wanted to continue adding points following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Oxford United in their previous game. Plymouth Argyle were coming from consecutive wins against Accrington Stanley and Portsmouth FC. As the table looks today, Ipswich Town are in 9th place, with 64 points from 40 matches, while Plymouth Argyle sit in 4th, with 74 points from 40.

It was an impressive opening from Ipswich Town, thanks to a goal from Sam Morsy at the 37 minute mark, ending the first half 1-0. The second part ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

For Ipswich Town, Conor Chaplin and Macauley Bonne, came on for Sone Aluko and James Norwood. Plymouth Argyle brought on Romoney Crichlow-Noble, Ryan Broom and Jordan Garrick, to replace James Bolton, Jordan Houghton and Ryan Hardie.

There were bookings for Sam Morsy and Wes Burns from Ipswich Town, and Romoney Crichlow-Noble, for Plymouth Argyle.

Ipswich Town next face Cambridge Utd and Plymouth Argyle are at home to Oxford United.
