Ipswich Town 2 – Lincoln City 0: Visitors leave Portman Road Stadium with nothing

Ipswich Town beat Lincoln City with a thumping 2-0 victory on Tuesday at Portman Road Stadium. Both Ipswich Town and Lincoln City arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Ipswich Town were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Lincoln City, on the other hand, were able to continue their winning streak after a 3-1 win against Sheffield Wednesday in their last match. After today’s result, Ipswich Town are in 9th place, with 59 points from 26 matches, while Lincoln City sit in 18th, with 38 points from 26.

Ipswich Town dominated the first half, with Wes Burns finding the net, at 22 minutes. However they weren’t finished yet and Kayden Jackson made it 2-0 at the 32 minute mark to see out the first half 2-0. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 2-0 at full time.

Both coaches used all available substitutions. For Ipswich Town, Cameron Burgess, Tom Carroll and Conor Chaplin, came on for George Edmundson, Sam Morsy and Sone Aluko, Lincoln City brought on Cohen Bramall, Anthony Scully and Lasse Sorensen, to replace Liam Cullen, Chris Maguire and Lewis Fiorini.

There were bookings for Bersant Celina from Ipswich Town. For Lincoln City, Regan Poole, Conor McGrandles and Chris Maguire saw yellow.

Ipswich Town will next play Portsmouth FC at home, with Lincoln City facing AFC Wimbledon away.
