Ipswich Town 1 – Derby 0: The Rams unable to avoid defeat at Portman Road Stadium

Derby County fell to an away defeat at the hands of Ipswich Town at Portman Road Stadium on Friday. Ipswich Town were looking to get back to winning ways after losing their last match 1-0 to Lincoln City whilst Derby had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 3-0 victory against Accrington Stanley. Ipswich Town are now in 2nd place, with 33 points from 15 matches, while Derby sit in 9th, with 20 points from 15.

Following a goalless first half, Ipswich Town piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Wes Burns, at 67 minutes. They managed to close the match out with a clean sheet and a well-earned of 1-0 victory.

Substitutions for Ipswich Town included Freddie Ladapo, Dominic Ball and Richard Keogh for Tyreece John-Jules, Lee Evans and Janoi Donacien, respectively. Derby replaced David McGoldrick, Conor Hourihane, Liam Francis Thompson and Craig Forsyth with Lewis Norman Dobbin, William Osula, Korey Smith and Tom Barkhuizen.

There were bookings for Sam Morsy from Ipswich Town. For Derby, James Chester and Korey Smith saw yellow.

Ipswich Town will play their next game away against Port Vale, while Derby will face Exeter City at home.
