Gillingham FC 0 – Bolton Wanderers 3: Home side humiliated by travelling Mems Priestfield Stadium

Bolton Wanderers beat Gillingham FC with a thumping 3-0 victory on Saturday at Mems Priestfield Stadium. Gillingham FC were looking to pick up points, following a 2-0 victory against Lincoln City. Bolton Wanderers were beaten 2-0 in the previous match against Milton Keynes Dons. Following today’s result, Gillingham FC and Bolton Wanderers currently occupy 22nd and 11th spots in the table, with 30 points and 54 points respectively after 37 matches.
Bolton Wanderers found the net first, with Aaron Morley opening the rout at the 31 minute mark to take them into the break 0-1 up.
Bolton Wanderers continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Declan John in the 65th minute. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Jon Bodvarsson just before the final whistle to make it 3-0.
For Gillingham FC, Ben Reeves and Charlie Kelman, came on for Mustapha Carayol and Vadaine Oliver. Bolton Wanderers brought on Kieran Sadlier, Amadou Bakayoko and George Thomason for Oladapo Afolayan, Dion Charles and Jordan Williams.
The referee booked three players. Daniel Phillips from Gillingham FC, who saw yellow cards and Daniel Phillips (2 yellow cards), sent off with a red, as well as for Bolton Wanderers Jordan Williams also seeing yellows.
Gillingham FC will next travel to Doncaster Rovers, while Bolton Wanderers will face Plymouth Argyle at home.
