Rovers 0 – Portsmouth FC 1: Visitors secure points with win at The New Lawn

Portsmouth FC enjoyed an away victory against Rovers at The New Lawn on Saturday. Rovers were aiming to improve their league standing following a disappointing 2-2 draw with Port Vale in their previous game. Portsmouth FC were beaten 3-0 in their previous match against Charlton Athletic. Rovers are now in 22nd place, with 12 points from 15 matches, while Portsmouth FC sit in 5th, with 25 points from 15.

Portsmouth FC started the match strongly, when Sean Raggett gave them the lead on the 17 minute mark, to take a 1-0 lead into half time. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the match ended 1-0.

Substitutions for Rovers included Josh March, Jamille Matt, Kyle McAllister and Bryan Fiabema for Regan Hendry, Connor Wickham, Armani Little and Harry Boyes, respectively. Portsmouth FC replaced Joe Pigott, Owen Dale, Ronan Curtis and Jay Mingi for Dane Scarlett, Recco Hackett-Fairchild, Josh Koroma and Michael Morrison.

There were bookings for Regan Hendry, Armani Little and Baily Cargill from Rovers. For Portsmouth FC, Ryan Tunnicliffe and Dane Scarlett saw yellow.

Rovers will next travel to Fleetwood Town, while Portsmouth FC will face Oxford United at home.
