Forest Green Rovers 1-0 Bolton Wanderers: Trotters tripped up at the New Lawn

Forest Green Rovers banked all three points against the Bolton Wanderers in a 1-0 victory on Saturday, at The New Lawn. Rovers were looking forward to playing again after losing their last match 3-2 to Burton Albion. Bolton Wanderers were coming from consecutive wins against Lincoln City and Peterborough United. Rovers are now in 21st place, with 11 points from 13 matches, while Bolton Wanderers sit in 6th, with 20 points from 13.

Rovers started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Connor Wickham gave them the lead, 32 minutes in. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the match ended 1-0.

Rovers brought on Josh March and Myles Peart-Harris for Regan Hendry and Connor Wickham. Bolton Wanderers brought on Jack Iredale, Oladapo Afolayan, Jon Bodvarsson and Kieran Sadlier, to replace George Johnston, George Thomason, Elias Kachunga and Conor Bradley.

The referee booked Kyle McAllister, Christian Marques, Regan Hendry and Baily Cargill for Rovers.

Rovers will next play Port Vale away, with Bolton Wanderers facing Barnsley at home.
