Fleetwood Town 0 – Ipswich Town 2: Visitors at Highbury Stadium secure victory

Fleetwood Town on Saturday lost to Ipswich Town on a home defeat at Highbury Stadium. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Fleetwood Town arrived with the intention of increasing their league score following a 3-3 draw with Portsmouth FC in their previous game. Ipswich Town, on the other hand, are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. As it stands, Fleetwood Town are in 19th place, with 33 points from 37 matches, while Ipswich Town sit in 9th, with 56 points from 37.

After an un-eventful first half, Ipswich Town continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Sam Morsy giving Ipswich Town the lead, at 72 minutes. However they weren’t finished yet and Kayden Jackson made it 2-0, 81 minutes in to make it 2-0.

Fleetwood Town brought on Cian Hayes, Daniel Butterworth and Shayden Morris for Anthony Pilkington, Paddy Lane and Ellis Harrison. Ipswich Town brought on Tyreeq Bakinson, Macauley Bonne and James Norwood, to replace Joe Pigott, Kayden Jackson and Bersant Celina.

There were bookings for Anthony Pilkington from Fleetwood Town. For Ipswich Town, Luke Woolfenden and Sam Morsy saw yellow.

Fleetwood Town will next play Burton Albion away, with Ipswich Town facing Portsmouth FC at home.
