Cheltenham Town 1-2 Oxford: Brannagan brace secures second-half comeback for the U’s

Oxford United enjoyed a mesmerising away victory against Cheltenham Town at Jonny-Rocks Stadium on Saturday. Cheltenham Town were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning last match. Oxford United are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. As the table looks today, Cheltenham Town and Oxford United currently occupy 21st and 17th spots in the league, with 4 points and 7 points respectively after 6 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Cheltenham Town took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Taylor Perry, 63 minutes in. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Cameron Brannagan at the 66 minute mark, brought Oxford United level. Oxford United then netted again and turned the match thanks to a penalty second effort from Cameron Brannagan just before the final whistle to make it 2-1.

Substitutions for Cheltenham Town included Christian Norton, William Ferry and Charlie Raglan for Daniel Adshead, Ben Williams and Lewis Freestone, repectively.
