Cheltenham Town 1 – Crewe Alexandra 2: Visitors at Jonny-Rocks Stadium secure victory

Crewe Alexandra defeat Cheltenham Town 2-1 on Saturday at Jonny-Rocks Stadium. Cheltenham Town wanted to continue adding points following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Ipswich Town in their previous game. Crewe Alexandra lost 1-0 in the last match they played against Oxford United. As the table looks today, Cheltenham Town are in 15th place, with 41 points from 36 matches, while Crewe Alexandra sit in 24th, with 25 points from 36.

Crewe Alexandra started well, with Chris Long finding the net, 18 minutes in, seeing out the first half 0-1.

Cheltenham Town fought back, thanks to an early goal from Kion Etete in the 48th minute. Crewe Alexandra in turn, then responded at the 83 minute mark increasing their lead with an effort from Chris Porter and seeing the game end 2-1.

For Cheltenham Town, Liam Sercombe and Andy Williams, came on for Aaron Ramsey and Matthew Pollock. Crewe Alexandra brought on Bassala Sambou and Connor Salisbury, to replace Daniel Agyei and Chris Long.

There were bookings for William Boyle and Callum Wright from Cheltenham Town. For Crewe Alexandra, Regan Griffiths and Travis Johnson saw yellow.

Crewe Alexandra and Cheltenham Town will next play at home to Wycombe Wanderers and Doncaster Rovers respectively.
