Milton Keynes Dons, on the other hand, were looking to extend their winning run after a 2-1 victory against Sunderland AFC. Milton Keynes Dons continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Kaine Kesler Hayden in the 59th minute and seeing the game end 2-0.

For Charlton Athletic, Diallang Jaiyesimi, Elliott Lee and Tyreece Campbell, came on for Jonathan Leko, Mason Burstow and George Dobson, Milton Keynes Dons brought on Mo Eisa, Theodor Corbeanu and David Kasumu to replace Connor Wickham, Scott Twine and Josh McEachran.

The referee booked Alex Gilbey for Charlton Athletic.

Charlton Athletic will next play Sheffield Wednesday away, with Milton Keynes Dons facing Bolton Wanderers at home.
