Cambridge 0-2 Sheffield Wednesday: The Owls take excellent away win

Cambridge on home loss to Sheffield Wednesday at Abbey Stadium on Saturday. Cambridge were looking to get back to winning ways after losing 2-1 to Bristol Rovers in their last match while SWFC were able to continue their winning streak after a 3-0 win against Cheltenham Town in their last match. Cambridge and SWFC currently occupy 18th and 3rd spots in the table, with 16 points and 29 points respectively after 14 matches.

It was an impressive opening from The Owls, when Lee Gregory found the net after only 6 minutes, saw out the first half 1-0.

SWFC continued to apply pressure in the second period and were rewarded, when Lee Gregory found the net once more, 77 minutes in, which sealed the victory for the visitors.

Cambridge brought on Jack Lankester, Fejiri Okenabirhie and Ben Worman for Shilow Tracey, Joe Ironside and Lewis Simper. SWFC brought on Mark McGuinness, George Byers and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, to replace Michael Smith, Tyreeq Bakinson and Will Vaulks.

There were bookings for Greg Taylor from Cambridge, and Michael Smith, Lee Gregory and Will Vaulks, for SWFC.

Cambridge will play their next fixture at home against Port Vale, while SWFC will face Lincoln City away.
