Cambridge 2-0 Lincoln: The U’s extend positive home form

Lincoln City on away loss to Cambridge at Abbey Stadium on Saturday. Cambridge were looking to continue their good run, following a 4-3 victory against Burton Albion. Lincoln City, meanwhile, were struggling for form following a draw in their last match. Cambridge are now in 5th place, with 13 points from 7 matches, while Lincoln City sit in 20th, with 7 points from 7.

Cambridge dominated the first half, when Joe Ironside gave them the lead on the 24 minute mark. However they weren’t finished yet and Joe Ironside made it 2-0, at 27 minutes to see out the first half 2-0. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 2-0 at full time.

Substitutions for Cambridge included Liam O’Neil, James Brophy, Jack Lankester, Saikou Janneh and Greg Taylor for Adam May, Shilow Tracey, Harvey Knibbs, Sam Smith and Paul Digby, respectively. Lincoln City brought on Matty Virtue, Joe Walsh and Charles Vernam for Lasse Sorensen, Timothy Eyoma and Teddy Bishop.

The referee booked one player from Lincoln City, Paudie O’Connor.

Cambridge will next travel to Ipswich Town, while Lincoln City will face Accrington Stanley at home.
