Charlton Athletic’s 2-0 win over Cambridge Utd on Tuesday, was hard fought at Abbey Stadium. The most recent was against the Wigan Athletic away (2-1), the other to Morecambe FC at home (2-1). Charlton Athletic, on the other hand, were beaten 3-2 in the previous match against Morecambe FC. After a goalless first half, Charlton Athletic continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Corey Blackett-Taylor finding the net, at 73 minutes. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Conor Washington, 80 minutes in with a final score of 2-0.
For Cambridge, Paul Digby, Joe Ironside and Harvey Knibbs, came on for Liam O’Neil, Jack Lankester and Shilow Tracey. Charlton Athletic brought on Chuks Aneke and Diallang Jaiyesimi, to replace Jayden Stockley and Corey Blackett-Taylor.
