Burton Albion 1 – Cheltenham Town 0: Visitors leave Pirelli Stadium empty handed

Burton Albion eased past Cheltenham Town in a 1-0 victory on Saturday at Pirelli Stadium. Burton Albion were on the hunt for more points following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Morecambe FC in their previous game. Cheltenham Town had lost their previous match against Bristol Rovers. Burton Albion and Cheltenham Town currently occupy 21st and 20th spots in the league, with 12 points and 14 points respectively after 15 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Burton Albion piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Victor Adeboyejo, 77 minutes in. They managed to close the match out with a clean sheet and a well-earned of 1-0 victory.

Substitutions for Burton Albion included Bobby Kamwa, Jonny Smith and Calum Butcher for Tyler Onyango, Joe Powell and Davis Keillor-Dunn, respectively. Cheltenham Town replaced Sean Long, Christian Norton, Taylor Perry and Ryan Broom for Ben Williams, Elliot Bonds, James Olayinka and Charlie Brown.

There were bookings for Terry Taylor from Burton Albion, and Taylor Perry and Ryan Jackson, for Cheltenham Town.

Burton Albion will next travel to Bolton Wanderers, while Cheltenham Town will face Morecambe FC at home.
