Bristol Rovers 1-0 Oxford: Marquis goal gives Rovers the home victory

Bristol Rovers beat Oxford United with a thumping 1-0 victory on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. Both sides arrived on the back of wins. Bristol Rovers were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Oxford United, on the other hand, were able to continue their winning streak after a 1-0 win against Cambridge Utd in their last match. After today’s result, Bristol Rovers are in 1st place in the table and have 6 points while Oxford United sit in 16th with 3 points after 3 matches.

Bristol Rovers started the first half well, thanks to a goal from John Marquis, at 34 minutes to see out the first half 1-0. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the match ended 1-0.

Substitutions for Bristol Rovers included Jordan Rossiter, Paul Coutts, Lewis Gibson, Josh Grant and Ryan Loft for Glenn Whelan, Sam Finley, Lewis Gordon, Harvey Saunders and John Marquis, repectively.
