Bristol 1 – Sheffield U 1: The Robins locked into a draw at home to The Blades

On Monday, Bristol and Sheffield U were held to a 1-1 draw at the Ashton Gate. Bristol were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning last match. Sheffield U lost 2-1 in the last match they played against Reading. After today’s result, Bristol and Sheffield U currently occupy 18th and 6th spots in the table, with 49 points and 66 points respectively after 43 matches.

After a goalless first half, Whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Bristol who started the second half well, with an early goal from Chris Martin in the 49th minute. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Morgan Gibbs-White equalised for Sheffield U at the 60 minute mark and seeing the game end 1-1.

For Bristol, Ayman Benarous and Nahki Wells, came on for Jay Dasilva and Antoine Semenyo. Sheffield U brought on William Osula, Ben Osborn and Conor Hourihane, to replace Iliman Ndiaye, George Baldock and John Fleck.

There were bookings for Andreas Weimann and Timm Klose from Bristol, and Chris Basham, John Egan, George Baldock and John Fleck, for Sheffield U.

Bristol will next travel to Derby County, while Sheffield U will face Cardiff City at home.
