Bristol 5 – Hull City 0: Plenty of goals as The Robins get the home win

Bristol City’s 5-0 win over Hull City on Saturday, was hard fought at the Ashton Gate. Both teams arrived fresh from some positive results. Bristol were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run, following a 3-1 victory against Derby County while Hull City were looking to extend their winning run after a 3-0 victory against Reading. As the table looks today, Bristol and Hull City currently occupy 17th and 18th spots in the table, with 55 points and 50 points respectively after 45 matches.
Bristol started the first half well, with an early goal from Andreas Weimann in the 5th minute. Bristol looked to have the game under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Antoine Semenyo after 33 minutes to establish a 2-0. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Chris Martin, at 35 minutes, which saw the first half end 3-0.
The Robins staged a comeback in the second half, with Chris Martin finding the net again, 54 minutes in. However they weren’t finished yet and Andreas Weimann made it 5-0, at 82 minutes with a final score of 5-0.
Both coaches used the full entitlement. For Bristol, Ayman Benarous, Nahki Wells and Tommy Conway, came on for Alex Scott, Antoine Semenyo and Andreas Weimann, Hull City brought on Regan Slater, Marcus Forss and Ryan Longman to replace Tom Eaves, Allahyar Sayyad and Brandon Fleming.
There were bookings for Alex Scott from Bristol. For Hull City, Richard Smallwood and Alfie Jones saw yellow.
Bristol will play away against Huddersfield Town, while Hull City will face Nottingham Forest at home.
