Bolton Wanderers 3-0 Wycombe: The Chairboys crumble against impressive Trotters

Bolton Wanderers beat Wycombe Wanderers with a thumping 3-0 victory on Saturday at University of Bolton Stadium. Bolton Wanderers arrived with the intention of increasing their league score following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town in their previous game. Wycombe had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 3-0 victory against Burton Albion. After today’s result, Bolton Wanderers are in 3rd place, with 4 points from 2 matches, while Wycombe sit in 9th, with 3 points from 2.

Bolton Wanderers started well, when Kyle Dempsey opened the rout, 15 minutes in. Bolton Wanderers then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Aaron Morley just before halftime to secure a 2-0 win.

Bolton Wanderers continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Kyle Dempsey found the net again, at 66 minutes and saw the match end 3-0.

Substitutions for Bolton Wanderers included Jon Bodvarsson, Kieran Sadlier, Elias Kachunga, Declan John and George Thomason for Amadou Bakayoko, Conor Bradley, Oladapo Afolayan, Jack Iredale and Kyle Dempsey, repectively. Wycombe brought on Daryl Horgan, Tjay De Barr, Nick Freeman and D’Mani Bughail-Mellor for Anis Mehmeti, Lewis Wing, Dominic Gape and Sam Vokes.

The referee booked two players from Wycombe, Jack Grimmer and Garath McCleary.

Bolton Wanderers will next play Port Vale away, with Wycombe facing Shrewsbury Town at home.
