Bolton 1-0 Peterborough: The Trotters sink Posh to continue strong form

Bolton Wanderers beat Peterborough United with a 1-0 victory on Saturday at University of Bolton Stadium. Bolton Wanderers were looking to continue their good run after winning their previous two matches against Milton Keynes Dons away and Charlton Athletic at home, by 2-0 and 3-1 respectively while Peterborough United were beaten 1-0 in their previous match against Fleetwood Town. Bolton Wanderers and Peterborough United currently occupy 5th and 10th spots in the table, with 17 points and 12 points respectively after 10 matches.

After a goalless first half, Bolton Wanderers applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Oladapo Afolayan just before the full time, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Substitutions for Bolton Wanderers included Oladapo Afolayan, Jon Bodvarsson, Kieran Sadlier and Amadou Bakayoko for Kyle Dempsey, Elias Kachunga, Jack Iredale and Dion Charles, respectively. Peterborough United replaced Ricky Jade-Jones, Kwame Poku, Jeando Fuchs and Jack Taylor for Ephron Mason-Clark, Joe Ward, Hector Matthew Kyprianou and Jack Marriott.

There were bookings for Jack Iredale, George Johnston, Jordan Williams and Kieran Sadlier from Bolton Wanderers. For Peterborough United, Jeando Fuchs, Josh Knight and Hector Matthew Kyprianou saw yellow.

Bolton Wanderers will play away against Portsmouth FC, while Peterborough United will face Port Vale at home.
