Bolton Wanderers 3 – Lincoln City 1: Visitors unable to get win at University of Bolton Stadium

Lincoln City on away loss to Bolton Wanderers at University of Bolton Stadium on Tuesday. Bolton Wanderers were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning last match. Lincoln City, on the other hand, lost 1-0 in the last match they played against Doncaster Rovers. As the table looks today, Bolton Wanderers and Lincoln City currently occupy 10th and 17th spots in the table, with 51 points and 35 points respectively after 35 matches.

After an un-eventful first half, Whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Bolton Wanderers who started the second half well, with George Johnston finding the net, 53 minutes in. However, their lead didn’t last for long, Cohen Bramall producing an equaliser at the 65 minute mark, bringing Lincoln City level. However, each side looked hungry to win and Bolton Wanderers then found the back of the net at the 76 minute mark thanks to Kieran Sadlier, taking the score to 2-1. However they weren’t finished yet and Amadou Bakayoko made it 3-1, at 83 minutes to make it 3-1.

Both coaches used all available substitutions. For Bolton Wanderers, Kieran Sadlier, Amadou Bakayoko and Kyle Dempsey, came on for Declan John, Jon Bodvarsson and Oladapo Afolayan, Lincoln City brought on Tom Hopper, Lewis Fiorini and Liam Cullen to replace John Marquis, Teddy Bishop and Morgan Whittaker.

The referee booked Amadou Bakayoko, Dion Charles and Jordan Williams for Bolton Wanderers.

Bolton Wanderers will play away against Milton Keynes Dons, while Lincoln City will face Gillingham FC at home.
