Blackpool 1 – Forest 4: Red dogs deliver emphatic win, at Bloomfield Road

Blackpool on home loss to Nottingham Forest at Bloomfield Road on Saturday. Blackpool arrived with the intention of increasing their league score following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Sheffield United in their previous game. Forest were coming from consecutive wins against Queens Park Rangers and Reading. As it stands, Blackpool and Forest sit 13th, (52 points) and 5th, (61 points), spots respectively, after 40 matches.
Red dogs didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, with Philip Zinckernagel opening the rout, at 11 minutes. The momentum was now with Forest, who then scored again through a goal from Brennan Johnson, at 31 minutes to establish a 2-0. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a second effort from Brennan Johnson at the 37 minute mark, which saw the first half end 0-3.
Forest continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Sam Surridge at the 82 minute mark. In the end though, Blackpool secured the points emphatically, with a goal from Callum Connolly just before the final whistle and seeing the game end 4-1.
Both coaches used all substitutions. For Blackpool, Callum Connolly, Keshi Anderson and Shayne Lavery, came on for Kevin Stewart, CJ Hamilton and Jerry Yates, Forest brought on Sam Surridge, Lewis Grabban and Joe Lolley to replace Keinan Davis, Brennan Johnson and Philip Zinckernagel.
There were bookings for Kevin Stewart from Blackpool. For Forest, Joe Lolley saw yellow.
Blackpool will next play Blackburn Rovers away, with Forest facing Birmingham City at home.
