Blackburn 0 – Stoke 1: Rovers suffer home loss to The Potters

Blackburn on home loss to Stoke City at Ewood Park on Monday. Both Blackburn and Stoke arrived at the match from previous defeats in the league. Blackburn arrived at the game looking pick up points after losing their last game 2-1 to Peterborough United. Stoke, on the other hand, lost 1-0 in the last match they played against Bristol City. Following today’s result, Blackburn and Stoke currently occupy 8th and 14th spots in the league, with 63 points and 58 points respectively after 43 matches.

Stoke started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with an early goal from Jacob Brown in the 4th minute. The score at half time was 0-1. The second 45 minutes ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

For Blackburn, Joe Rothwell, John Buckley and Ryan Hedges, came on for Jan Paul Van Hecke, Bradley Johnson and Tyrhys Dolan. Stoke brought on Jaden Philogene-Bidace and Steven Fletcher, to replace Romaine Sawyers and Josh Maja.

There were bookings for Scott Wharton and Jan Paul Van Hecke from Blackburn. For Stoke, Josh Maja and Tommy Smith saw yellow.

Blackburn will next travel to Preston North End, while Stoke will face Queens Park Rangers at home.
