Birmingham 2 – Millwall 2: Points shared with visitors at St Andrew’s Stadium

Birmingham were held to 2-2 draw by Millwall down on Saturday at St Andrew’s Stadium. Birmingham were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Blackpool. Millwall were looking to extend their winning run after a 2-1 victory against Hull City. As the table looks today, Birmingham are in 20th place on the table and has 46 points while Millwall sit in 7th with 66 points after 44 matches.

Blues started strongly in the first half, thanks to Juninho Bacuna finding the net just before half-time

The Lions took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Oliver Burke at the 68 minute mark. However, each side looked hungry to win and Birmingham then found the back of the net, at 79 minutes thanks to Lyle Taylor, taking the score to 2-1. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Benik Afobe equalised for Millwall just before the final whistle. The final result, Birmingham 2, Millwall 2.

For Birmingham, Jordan Graham, came on for Jeremie Bela. Millwall replaced Mason Bennett, Tyler Burey and Ryan Leonard with Shaun Hutchinson, Tom Bradshaw and Danny McNamara.

There were bookings for Marc Roberts, Lyle Taylor, Ivan Sunjic and Juninho Bacuna from Birmingham, and George Saville, Danny McNamara and Jake Cooper, for Millwall.

Birmingham will play their next fixture away against Cardiff City, while Millwall will face Peterborough United at home.
