Barnsley 0-1 Lincoln City: Imps battle their way to victory over The Tykes

Lincoln City eased past Barnsley in a 1-0 victory on Tuesday at Oakwell Ground. Barnsley were looking forward to playing again, following defeat to Morecambe FC. Lincoln City, meanwhile, were struggling for form following a draw in their last match. both teams are now on 21 points and occupy 9th and 11th places respectively after 16 matches.

The first half of the match started favourably for Lincoln City, with a goal from Daniel Mandroiu just before half-time, concluding the first half 1-0. The second half ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Substitutions for Barnsley included Adam Phillips, Jack Aitchison, Ziyad Larkeche and Fabio Jalo for Herbie Kane, Robbie Cundy, Nicky Cadden and Josh Benson, respectively. Lincoln City brought on Jordan Garrick, Jordan Wright and Charles Vernam, to replace Jack Diamond, Max Sanders and Daniel Mandroiu.

There were bookings for Herbie Kane and Josh Benson from Barnsley, and Max Sanders, for Lincoln City.

Barnsley will play their next fixture at home against Forest Green Rovers, while Lincoln City will face Port Vale away.
