Barnsley 2 – Bristol 0: Job done for The Tykes at home to The Robins

Barnsley’s 2-0 win over Bristol City on Tuesday, was hard fought at Oakwell Ground. Barnsley were looking for a victory after a 1-1 draw against Fulham. Bristol, on the other hand, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 1-0 victory against Blackburn Rovers. As it stands, Barnsley and Bristol currently occupy 22nd and 18th spots in the table, with 25 points and 43 points respectively after 38 matches.
The Tykes started strongly in the first half, thanks to Carlton Morris giving Barnsley the lead in the 10th minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Michal Helik made it 2-0, at 21 minutes to secure a 2-0 win. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 2-0.
Barnsley brought on Devante Cole, Liam Kitching and Clarke Oduor for Carlton Morris, Callum Styles and Remy Vita. Bristol brought on Joe Williams, Nahki Wells and Tommy Conway, to replace Alex Scott, Joe Williams and Antoine Semenyo.
Barnsley will next travel to Sheffield United, while Bristol will face West Bromwich Albion at home.
